This open application allows writers to submit their feature-length screenplays for professional script coverage or script notes — outside of a competition setting. By submitting to our open application, your script enters a live development ecosystem built on development feedback and relationships with Wscripted’s readers and partners.

Why our Open Application Mirrors How the Industry Works

After five years of experience with the Cannes Screenplay List, we've created an Open Application to mirror the development pipeline used by production companies to discover, review, and track scripts to help writers understand their screenplay’s market readiness and join Wscripted's talent pipeline to get recommended to producers and competitions.

A Submission Process That Builds Relationships

When you submit through our open application, your screenplay is reviewed by Wscripted’s reading committee with experience evaluating projects for prestigious lists, labs, competitions and production teams.

Your script will be read by:

  • Members of the Cannes Screenplay List reading committee (backed by MUBI)

  • Development executives and industry consultants actively packaging, scouting, and providing coverage for production companies

Submissions become part of an active, relationship-based ecosystem. Exceptional projects may be:

  • Internally highlighted to producers and partners seeking material

  • Tracked and recommended for labs, lists, or partner competitions

Types of Feedback and Cost

All evaluations use a structured scoring system that reflects how industry professionals assess scripts internally at production companies — helping you understand where your project stands with actionable feedback to move it forward, which can be used as a benchmark to evaluate your script’s market readiness. Your coverage or script note remain confidential between you and Wscripted’s team.

  • Script Coverage – $120
     Industry-standard evaluation covering story structure, dialogue, character, and more + scoring table
    Great for assessing your project’s strengths and readiness
    Turnaround: 1 to 3 weeks

  • In-Script Notes – $170
    Available only to writers who score 8+ on Script Coverage
    Detailed page-by-page notes for development purposes + scoring table
    Great for development and deep revision
    Turnaround: 1 to 3 weeks

  • In-Script Notes + 1h Live Call – $250
    Available only to writers who score 8+ on Script Coverage
     Detailed page-by-page notes for development purposes with scoring table, plus a live development conversation
    Great for brainstorming, Q&A, and building a relationship
    Turnaround: 1 to 3 weeks

All writers submitting to the Open Application will receive a 3-month free coupon on Wscripted+, where your project becomes discoverable and recommended to producers and agents based on their interests — giving your screenplay visibility and the opportunity to be seen by the right industry professionals.
